Know your space<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

POV: you\u2019re looking to fill a blank wall with the perfect piece of art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s time to get prepared. Before you set out, think about your space: how big is it? What colour are the walls? How is the lighting? You could even bring a photograph of the area along with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That way, you\u2019ll feel confident in your new find and your soon-to-be stylish space.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Grab a guide<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Upon arriving at an Affordable Art Fair, pick up a free fair guide and get to grips with the layout as you wander. Don\u2019t forget to make notes on galleries and pieces you like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top tip: add info like a favourite artist\u2019s name, artwork size, and price. Or if available, pick up the gallery\u2019s card \u2013 it\u2019s essential to help keep a track of the one for your walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pace yourself<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Art fairs are a great place to discover new art but trust us when we say, it can involve a lot of walking. Make sure those feet are comfy and pace yourself. Finding your dream design shouldn\u2019t be rushed.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speak up<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Seen something you particularly like? Ask questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where better to turn than a knowledgeable gallerist – you\u2019ll find they are more than happy to help. Get to know the artist, the background of the artwork or any recommendations of pieces you might like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, while affordable is our aim, it\u2019s possible you might fall for something a bit outside your budget. Many of our galleries are willing to arrange payment in instalments, to help make the purchase a little more manageable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you\u2019ve had a good look around, take a break and think over your choices. Have a glass of wine, chat with friends and return to your favourites with fresh eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you fall in love with an artwork, our best advice is to go for it \u2013 there is nothing worse than post-fair regret!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
